I have needed major dental work for a long time but have been putting it off due to the very high cost quotes that I was receiving in the US. When a good friend had his dental work done in Costa Rica and he was very pleased not only with the cost but with the quality of the work I decided to check it out for myself. Web research led me to Americas Dental Care and after several email consultations and quotes I made the excellent decision to make an appointment to have the work done. Dr. Juan Donato and his wife, Anita, are an exceptional team and did a terrific job on my complicated case. And, the care and attention that I received before, during, and after my surgery were tops. Now I have a great and very reasonable dental solution and two new good friends. Without hesitation I recommend American Dental Care in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Beyond my hopes and expectations. Anita and Dr. Donato are not only skilled professionals but incredibly kind and warm people. I came to Costa Rica on blind faith needing a full mouth reconstruction. My teeth were treated not as a source of shame but as a problem to be dealt with. I was reassured and guided every step of the way. I feel like I've gotten my life back and cannot recommend this clinic highly enough. Gracias cientos de veces.

I needed major work after a series of accidents and overall failing oral health. I was apprehensive about traveling for dental work, but that was quickly alleviated when I arrived here for my first treatment. Dr. Donato picked me up from the airport and promptly took me out to breakfast and the farmers market. In between procedures, he and his wife/assistant took me to the beach and even took me to the hospital when I had kidney stones. I returned four months later for the final procedures. It was just as easy as the first trip. They gave me back my smile and I cannot thank them enough. I came as a patient and left as family.

I posted before my negative review and it was removed. Do not waste your money here. Doctor was very nice first trip to Costa Rica, came to pick me up where I was staying, made lots of unfulfilled promises for arrival for second treatment. He argued with his wife while I was on the table. They didn't take a mold of the tooth they were matching so now my implant looks nothing like my old tooth nor the tooth on other side. I was overcharged for Botox from the first time to the second. I asked for written documentation of treatments and invoice and I got a handwritten slip. I'd made an appointment in October for April, yet days before my arrival the dentist said he had to change the days because he was having surgery, instead it was that he scheduled another surgery on the same day as mine, though I'd prebooked my trip. His wife was very sweet, but it was very sad and unsettling to hear the arguing while she was working on my mouth. If you're going down for one trip, sure they will treat you like Kings, but if someone with more money wants a more expensive surgery, they will throw you to the side and not fulfill promises nor treatment. I'd paid for and requested a retainer for my mouth which they completely forgot to make. I came all the way from the USA, and paid for the majority of treatment upfront, but still somehow forgot? Don't trust them. Also, don't tell them if you plan on visiting Nicaragua, because then they will go on and on about how the weather and people are bad. Avoid at all costs and find a reputable de tist with good bedside manners.

Wonderful and very professional dental care. They provided complete information before we went to even got on a plane. You had your own personal dentist and help touring Costa Rica. I would send anyone who needs dental work like implants or crowns. I will be returning in 2017 for more of their special care.
