Kind therapists. The people there have a willingness to help. They want to see you succeed. It's not about quitting substances it's about more than that. They helped me identify and work through trauma. I can have better relationships now and believe in myself more now.
The place is also completely beautiful. It's much better than they show in the photos. The food is amazing too. The experiences are phenomenal.. weekend excursions like baths with elephants. I even got my PADI dive certificate while I was there.

My cousin went through hell with his substance addiction and took the courage to seek help. From the day he arrived till the day he departed from the rehab, Dara Rehab Team was very welcoming and caring.
The treatment not only help him to recover from his addiction, he came home happier and healthier, absolutely the opposite of what he was before the rehab.

Fantastic place that really supports you. Gives you the tools to help with recovery as well as relapse.
I have received amazing care and been able to address many things with my focal councillor.
The staff are outstanding. The reception team, dining room team and the nursing team, are incredibly helpful.
The councilling team are great. All of them have been helpful, patient and caring. My particular one, has been great. Has really helped me. I'm so appreciative of the support, I've received dealing with my issues. Thank you so much.
Even though PT wasn't my thing, my personal trainer, gave me things to suit my needs and fitness level. Very accommodating.
The food was good. The mixture of Thai and western food was good. Some nights we even had Mexican and Indian.
The villas are lovely. Big comfy beds that are made for you and your room cleaned 6 days a week by housekeeping.
There are a few monkeys around who can be extremely cheeky. However I really enjoyed watching them, through the trees and wandering around.
Also having a few animals around, Dara the cat, Babe the dog and Boom the dog, helped with the missing of my own pets.
All in all, I can't speak higher about DARA. I'm leaving, feeling positive, inspired and eager to start my new journey; Sober.
If you really want to change your life, then I highly recommend DARA.

I stayed at Dara Koh Chang for two months earlier this year in treatment for clinically depression related increased usage of alcohol as a " make me happy " well alcohol as most people know may make you happy for a few moments and then what ??
My stay was fantastic - accommodation - environment - fantastic food were all there but the most amazing was the counseling staff - great diversity in education and backgrounds but always there Not just for the classes but for private consultations or just a 10-15 chat on things that were on my mind ( and there many things on my mind )
And also the support staff is amazing - the girls working at the reception would help with almost anything and went overboard to kind and helpful and to the point - I come from a hospitality background and I can assure you this is amazing.
But WHILE IT LOOKS LIKE A BEAUTIFUL RESORT - and has all facilities please do not forget there are rules to be followed - classes to be attended etc - everyone who follow this common sense rule will a world class stay at a very very reasonable cost.
I am going back next week for short time " refresh my brain " and I going there looking for to putting brain onto a friendly but challenging vacation mode.

Someone who I care about a great deal spent 10 weeks here. One year later they are still sober. The person who went to DARA was transformed into someone with a great sense of self worth, self respect and now has a happy life.I can’t thank the therapists and the team and Darren the owner enough. These are people who care about every single person who walks through the door. This place literally saves lives.
