Expeditionary Medical Research
The Expeditionary Medical Research team studies mechanisms of injury, causes of illness, and casualty care and treatment from point of injury through definitive care, and recovery and rehabilitation, to identify factors and best practices that improve health outcomes and operational readiness for warfighters.

Navy Medicine education and training has a long and proud history of developing, training and producing Basic Hospital Corpsman and highly specialized medical technicians. NMFSC owns and manages all medical training, education and instruction for the production of competent medical personnel, and Navy Medicine Sailors receive exceptional training to meet the operational requirements of the Force.
Research and Innovation
Health and Behavioral Sciences researchers evaluate the effectiveness of existing treatments and develop and test innovative treatments for mental health conditions. They also provide evidence-based mental health training to providers and evaluate impact on patient outcomes. Additionally, the 13th Annual Research Symposium hosted by the Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune had more than 70 entries.
