Başkent University Istanbul Hospital is a private multi-specialty medical center in Istanbul, Turkey. It is part of the Başkent University Healthcare Group, founded by Prof. Mehmet Haberal, a world-renowned general surgeon and transplant pioneer.
Prof. Haberal graduated from Ankara University Medical School in 1967 and earned his general surgery specialization in 1971. He continued his training in the United States at leading institutions, including Shriner’s Burns Institute and the University of Colorado Medical School’s Transplantation Center. Over the decades, he has achieved numerous surgical milestones:
- In 1975, he performed Turkey’s first living-related kidney transplant.
- In 1979, he completed the country’s first deceased donor kidney transplant.
- In 1988, he carried out the first successful deceased donor liver transplant in Turkey and the region.
- In 1990, he led the world’s first adult segmental living-related liver transplant.
- In 1992, he performed the world’s first combined liver-kidney transplant from a living donor.
Prof. Haberal also established the Turkish Organ Transplantation and Burn Foundation (1980), the Turkish Transplantation Society (TOND) (1990), and Başkent University itself in 1993. He is an elected New York Academy of Sciences member and an Honorary Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Under his leadership, Başkent University Hospitals have become a regional center of excellence. The Istanbul branch offers advanced care in heart surgery, general surgery, transplantology, and comprehensive medical check-ups for adults and children. The network has performed over 772 kidney transplants, with a 94.4% success rate for living donor cases.

最近この病院で手術を受けましたが、最初から最後まで素晴らしい経験でした。スタッフはとても親切で、Google翻訳を使ってコミュニケーションをとってくれました。とても丁寧でいつも笑顔で、私はとても緊張していましたが、皆さんが安心させてくれました。私と夫はとてもよくケアしてもらいました。病院のスタッフの皆様、そして執刀医の先生に心から感謝します。

I have used their laboratory for blood tests and was satisfied with their organisation. Ms Beyza was exceptional while taking the blood sample, I didn't feel anything at all. Mr Recep was very friendly and reassuring. Ladies in the reception of the laboratory were attentive and handled all the registration process and the paperwork professionally. Results were ready in about 2 hours as they promised. Overall it was a smooth process for me, really appreciated it.

あまりにも無計画でいい加減、来なければよかったと後悔しています。健康診断を受けましたが、各検査の予約時間が数時間おきに設定されていたため、何時間もかかりました。意味がわかりません。今年の健康診断もこの病院で受けようと思っていましたが、間違いでした。

2022年3月28日。バシュケント大学イスタンブール病院の経営陣の皆様へ。私の名前はレイラです。貴院のOymacı Sk. No:7 Kat 2で勤務されている看護師、グルフェダ・アキョルさんへの推薦状と感謝の手紙を書かせていただきます。私がグルフェダ・アキョルさんと出会ったのは、ラザ・チャグリ・サデ医師による腹部形成術と上半身の全身脂肪吸引手術の後、手術室から2階の201号室に運ばれた時でした。手術が複雑だったため、4泊入院する必要がありました。入院中、多くの看護師やスタッフに出会いましたが、グルフェダ・アキョルさんは、激しい痛みでベッドから起き上がれず、助けなしではトイレにも行けない私に対し、ケア、サポート、そして優しさを提供するために全力を尽くしてくれました。グルフェダ・アキョルさんは自分の仕事を愛しており、素晴らしく、思いやりがあり、親切で、共感的で、明るく、非常にプロフェッショナルな看護師です。彼女がシフトに入っている時は、安心感と快適さを感じることができました。私は医療ツーリズムのためにオーストラリアから来たため、看護師や医師とのコミュニケーションにおいて常に言葉の壁に直面しました。しかし、言葉の壁があっても、グルフェダ・アキョルさんは前向きなボディランゲージを使い、患者である私に対して最大限の敬意、ケア、プロ意識を持って接してくれました。激しい痛みと手術の合併症により4泊入院した患者として、貴院にグルフェダ・アキョルさんがいることは非常に幸運なことだと信じています。グルフェダさんと看護師のコブラさんのおかげで、私は家族や友人に医療ツーリズムのために貴院を推薦するつもりです。また、貴院のチームはグルフェダさんをチームリーダーにすることを検討すべきだと思います。そうすれば、他の若い看護師たちが、トルコに医療ツーリズムで訪れ、トルコ語を話せない患者に対する彼女の共感と良い人格から学ぶことができるからです。というのも、私は看護師のボルシャさんやアタ・ベイ医師など、他のスタッフ数名に出会いましたが、彼らは私が激しい腹痛と傷口からの出血でベッドで泣いている時に不親切で無礼でした。看護師がアタ・ベイ医師を呼んだ時、彼は診察に来ることを拒否し、当直の看護師に、ラザ・チャグリ・サデ医師が診察に来るまで朝まであと10時間待つようにとだけ言いました。私のフィードバックと推奨事項を読んでいただきありがとうございます。他の患者さんをケアする際に、これを考慮していただければ幸いです。敬具、オーストラリアからのレイラ、医療ツーリズム患者、バシュケント大学イスタンブール病院、Oymacı Sk.
