Dr. Patel is a miracle worker! To quickly summarize, I suffered multiple fractures to the front and side of my left cheek, which also shifted it back. Leaving a dent in the side of my face, and a bump the size of a green pea under my left eye. I naively went to the first recommended surgeon given to me by a local primary doctor. This surgeon had many degrees and had written books. After the surgery, there were no visible difference and it was a failure. I confronted the surgeon who then made a miserable attempt to explain the failure. I left and went directly to the primary who referred me to the surgeon who "botched" the surgery, showing him there was no progress with the surgery and asking him, who else can I go to? He replied, "thats the only surgeon I know." I called everywhere that would appear on Google, made multiple visits to primary doctors for referrals to other plastic surgeons. Ask those offices who would they know, to get, we don't know, as an answer. Or only for them to get back to me at the last moment, after waiting up to 2 weeks, in some cases, to say the surgeon can't do it or they're unsure still about insurance. I would call and their receptionist were oblivious to my issue, and condescending. I knew I had to keep looking, after 3 months, and dealing with constant migraines, a large amount of weight loss and light sensitivity, I saw Dr Patel's website on my Google search results. I thought, how did I miss this? From the moment I started talking to Lauren, the office manager, I was feeling more and more relief. She listened to everything, didn't cut me off or have a condescending attitude like the 30+ doctor offices i had spoken to before. I even caught myself frantically explaining and speaking over her, due to those previous interactions with the office managers and doctors, that I mentioned. She was very calm and knowledgeable. She knew everything right away, and said to get brand new, post botched surgery, CT scans for Dr Patel and then set up an appointment to see him. Within the first 5 seconds of looking at me, Dr. Patel told me and explained using model anatomical parts, what the issue was. (I'd like to add that the first surgeon was looking at my scans from two hospitals and he was bewildered, and gave up after 10 minutes.)
I knew right there, Dr Patel was a pro. He said what he believed was most likely wrong, but wanted to look at the scans first. He was exactly correct. We scheduled the surgery, and every single step was thoroughly explained. Surgery day came, and I was taken care of, again, every step of the way. Surgery was a complete success! My issue was complicated, it was several fractures and misaligned bones causing deformation. Dr Patel should be recognized for this surgery. I'm sure it was a new method, and extremely hard to perform. My face was saved because of Dr. Patel. Where all other surgeons in the chicagoland area showed cowardice and incompetence, Dr Patel has set himself above all of them. King of plastic surgery in Chicago. I am happy looking in the mirror, or walking the street and not having to hide my face due to deformity.
It's as if i went to sleep and my face reappeared, simply incredible, even possibly better than before. I'm in debt to Dr Patel. Family and friends of mine all want to go to Dr Patel now after seeing the miracle of how he reshaped my face. I've healed in 6 weeks completey and have continued my life. I don't even shake Dr Patel's hand, its too important. Dr Patel, Lauren, Maddie and Diem and all the staff at Plastic Surgery Chicago are truly respectful and caring, if they don't have something or don't know, they'll get it or figure it out fast. Please learn from this, don't waste your time, just come here, get the results, and get on with your life. Don't gamble on your face.
