Scientific Research & Theses

Dr. Şimşek supervised medical theses on urological outcomes at Bakırköy Dr. Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital. One study compared oncological and functional results of robotic and open perineal radical prostatectomy. Another research project evaluated peroperative parameters in robotic and laparoscopic partial nephrectomies. A third thesis analyzed the effect of urethroplasty techniques on erectile function.

His own specialization thesis compared midurethral sling surgery techniques for stress urinary incontinence. This study evaluated efficacy and complication rates of transobturator and retropubic methods. The research was completed in 2010 under the direction of Prof. Dr. Sinasi Yavuz Önol. He continues to contribute to urology through international research and scientific publications.
