Kim Hoon-yub

Dr. Kim Hoon-yub is an endocrinologist at Korea University Anam Hospital in Seoul. He developed the first robotic oral thyroidectomy in 2014. This breakthrough allows for thyroid removal without leaving any visible external scars.

Advanced Thyroid Surgery

The surgeon focuses on minimally invasive and robotic techniques for thyroid disease. He pioneered a method that inserts robot arms through the mouth. This technique hides surgical marks while ensuring precise tumor removal. Dr. Kim also uses intraoperative neuro-monitoring — a technology that tracks nerve signals during surgery to protect the vocal nerves.
