Dr. Alon Pikarsky is a board-certified general and colorectal surgeon at Hadassah Medical Center. He received his Israel Board Certification in General Surgery in 1998. He has led the Medical Students Program in Surgery since 1997. Since 2000, he has also served as Residency Program Director.

Professional biography

After completing his internship, he worked as a physician in a refugee camp (Kampala, Uganda) under the auspices of the Global Youth Movement for Africa (2007). He returned to Hadassah, where he worked in the orthopedic department during his residency.

From 2013 to 2014, he was an attending spine surgeon at the Bronx Hospital (New York). After returning to Israel, he currently works as a spine surgeon in the orthopedic department.

He actively uses robotic equipment and, together with the clinic’s team of doctors, has performed many complex operations to restore the structure of the spinal column.

Professor Tamir Ben-Hur is a neurologist specializing in stem cell therapy for neurological disorders, regenerative medicine, and neuroimmunology. He has a degree in general medicine from the Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School and a specialty in neurology from Hadassah University Hospital. He is the Director of the Clinical Neurosciences Division at the Hadassah University Hospital at Ein Kerem and has written over 100 papers. Professor Simon completed his medical studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He completed his residency and further training in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hadassah University Hospital Ein Kerem.

Advanced training in the areas of gamete micromanipulation, laparoscopic surgery and reconstructive pelvic surgery for patients with gynecologic oncology diseases in leading clinics in Europe and the USA.

Today, Professor Alex Simon directs the IVF Center at Hadassah University and also holds an academic position as Associate Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Dr. Michael Lotem leads the Melanoma and Cancer Immunotherapy Center at Hadassah Medical Center. He specializes in advanced immunotherapy for melanoma. Doctor Shimon Reif is a highly experienced pediatric gastroenterologist in Israel, and is the Head of the Department of Pediatrics at Hadassah Medical Center. He has extensive experience treating liver and gastrointestinal tract illnesses in children, and is a WHO expert in the development of protocols for diagnosing and treating these conditions. Dr. Reif is the co-author of a novel method of non-malignant disease treatment and has published over 50 research articles on the subject.
