I was born in Trabzon on 15.07.1969. After I attended Ismetpaşa Primary School and Cumhuriyet Secondary School, I was graduated from Trabzon High School. I had medical education and training in School of Medicine of Karadeniz Technical University from 1986 to 1992. I worked as medical practitioner in Alacahan subdistrict, Kangal District, Sivas City in 1992-1993 and in Sivas Police Headquarters to fulfill the conscription. I was assigned as Health Group Manager and Medical Practitioner in Dernekpazarı District of Trabzon in 1993-1994. I passed the Examination for Medical Specialty in 1995 and I had my residency training and education at Department of General Surgery in Istanbul School of Medicine of Istanbul University from 1995 to 2000. I was awarded the title of “General Surgeon” after I submitted the medical specialty thesis titled “Relationship between gastrointestinal tumors and HLA” in 2001. After I worked at a privately owned hospital in 2000-2002, I started working in General Surgery Clinic of Bakırköy Dr. Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital in 2003. Aviva Fattal-Valevski is an experienced neurologist specializing in the treatment of brain neurogenetic disorders in children. She has been in the field since 1993 and has held various positions at the Sourasky Medical Center since then. She is a member of various medical organizations, such as the Israel Medical Association, the Israel Society of Clinical Pediatrics, and the European Paediatric Neurology Society.

Prof. Dr. Alaettin Çelik graduated from Adapazarı İlyaslar Primary School in 1960, from Haydarpaşa High School in 1966, and from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 1972. In the same year, he became an assistant in the 2nd Surgery Department of the Faculty of Medicine. Between November 1975 and February 1976, he completed his military service for 4 months at the Gelibolu Military Hospital as a Reserve Officer. In 1977, he became a General Surgery Specialist in the Department of Surgery.

To establish the pediatric surgery department at the faculty and to specialize further, he worked as a registrar at the University of London's "The Hospital for Sick Children" from 01.12.1978 to 01.12.1980. After returning to the faculty, he continued his pediatric surgery studies and became an associate professor in 1982.

In the same year, he was appointed as the founding chairman of the Pediatric Surgery Department at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine on 06.09.1982. He established the department, which included a 30-bed inpatient unit, an ICU, a polyclinic, and an operating room for students, assistants, and specialists. In 1988, he became a professor. In addition to leading the Pediatric Surgery Department, he served as the Vice President of the Department of Surgical Medical Sciences between 1990 and 1995. From 1995 to 1998, he was the Head of the Department of Surgical Medical Sciences at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine.

He is a specialist in General Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, and Pediatric Urology. He has numerous cited and published clinical and experimental research articles, case reports, expert theses, and free papers presented at domestic and international congresses. He is the author of several books, including Pediatric Surgery Book of Pediatric Surgery (2014), Newborn Surgery (2008), and Pediatric Surgery Book (2013).

Prof. Selin Kapan has been a Professor of General Surgery since 2017. She is currently with Istanbul Aydın University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of General Surgery (2022–present). She previously worked at Bakırköy Dr. Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital as a Specialist and Associate Professor. She also served as Educational and Administrative Supervisor at Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Training and Research Hospital. In addition, she was Medical Coordinator and General Surgeon at Istanbul Surgery Hospital.

She has authored or co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed papers. Her research covers hernia repair, perianal fistula, pilonidal disease, hepatic hydatid disease, laparoscopic surgery, and gastrointestinal surgery. Her work has been published in journals such as Digestive Surgery, Hernia, Techniques in Coloproctology, and the Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery. She is a member of the Turkish Surgical Association, the National Trauma and Emergency Surgery Association, the Hernia Society, the Turkish HPB Surgery Association, the Stem Cell and Cellular Therapies Association, and the Gastroesophageal Reflux Association.

Born in 1978 in Istanbul, Prof. Dr. Ramazan Gökhan ATIŞ completed his medical degree at Istanbul University’s Faculty of Medicine in 2002. He pursued his urology specialization at Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital and became a certified urologist in February 2008. Following his military service at Edremit Military Hospital, he began working at Göztepe Training and Research Hospital in 2009.

In 2011, he received training in laparoscopic and robotic urology at Heidelberg University’s Heilbronn Clinic. Between 2009 and 2014, he conducted numerous scientific studies, especially in the field of endourology, earning the title of Associate Professor in 2014.

Since 2017, he has served on the board of the Endourology Society. In 2018, he was selected to the European Association of Urology’s Young Academic Urologists (EAU-YAU) Endourology Working Group, actively serving for two years. In January 2021, he was appointed as a Professor at Istanbul Medeniyet University. Since August 1, 2022, he has continued his clinical practice, initially at Şişli Memorial Hospital and currently at Medipol Acıbadem District Hospital.
