1962年にイスタンブールで生まれる。1986年にイスタンブール医科大学を卒業し、1991年に泌尿器科で研修医研修を修了。1994年にコンサルタント泌尿器外科医として、米国ヒューストンのベイラー医科大学で約1年間研究員として勤務。1996年に泌尿器科の准教授となった。2001年にイスタンブールのハイダルパシャNumuneトレーニング＆リサーチホスピタルの泌尿器科クリニック主任に任命された。2008年に泌尿器科の教授に昇進、2014から2018年までイスタンブールMedeniyet大学の学長を務めた。小児泌尿器科の専門分野でコンサルタントサージョンのタイトルをもち、医学史と医療倫理の博士号を取得。

前立腺がんに関する科学的な本を編集し、もう1冊は小児泌尿器科について; 40以上の書籍章に貢献し、国内外のジャーナルに300以上の学術論文を発表し、彼の記事は国際的に1000回以上引用されている。カラマンは、多数の国内外の会議および医学会の科学的または組織委員会にも参加している。最近では2019年10月にギリシャのアテネで開催されたユーロアジア尿路腫瘍学会の議長であった。

カラマン博士は、トルコ小児泌尿器科学会およびユーロアジア泌尿腫瘍学会の創設者の一人である。彼はトルコ保健省の泌尿器科カリキュラム委員会のメンバーであり、国際泌尿科学会（SIU）の科学プログラム評議会のメンバーでもある。

プロの活動に加え、教授博士 カラマンは「Doctors Worldwide」という名の国際的な医療および人道支援団体の創設者の一人であり、このNGOの議長を10年間務めた。現在は、「イスラム医学連盟」および「国際グリーン・クレセント連盟」という2つのグローバルな市民社会団体の会長として活動中。トルコグリーン・クレセント協会の即時過去会長であり、英語を話すことができ、アラビア語を理解することができ、結婚して2人の子供がいる。

Dr. Didem Melis Oztas is a cardiovascular surgeon at Biruni University Hospital in Istanbul. She specializes in pediatric cardiac surgery and congenital heart defects. Dr. Oztas won a national award for her research on cardiovascular stem cells.

Dr. Siar Dursun is a pediatric neurologist at Medipol University Pendik Hospital in Istanbul.
