Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdulcabbar Kartal is a distinguished colorectal and general surgeon practicing at Anadolu Medical Center in Istanbul. With over 17 years of surgical experience, he specializes in colorectal surgery, HIPEC (hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy) for peritoneal cancers, bariatric surgery, and minimally invasive procedures.
Dr. Kartal graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 2007 and completed his general surgery specialization at Istanbul Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital (2007-2013). He served as Assistant Professor at Istanbul Okan University (2016-2020) before receiving his Associate Professor title in 2020. In 2021, he earned the prestigious FEBS-C certification from the European Society of Coloproctology and became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).

Dr. Sedat Karademir is a general surgeon focused on hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) surgery and liver transplantation. Since 2024, he has been a general surgery specialist and department coordinator at Anadolu Medical Centre Hospital. He previously led Organ Transplantation and HPB Surgery at Ankara Güven Hospital.
He graduated from Ege University Faculty of Medicine (1979–1985). He completed his residency at Izmir Atatürk Training and Research Hospital (1988–1993). He trained in organ transplantation as a clinical fellow at Rush-Presbyterian–St. Luke’s in Chicago (1994–1997). He also worked as a researcher with the UCLA Liver Transplant Program.

Prof. Selin Kapan has been a Professor of General Surgery since 2017. She is currently with Istanbul Aydın University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of General Surgery (2022–present). She previously worked at Bakırköy Dr. Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital as a Specialist and Associate Professor. She also served as Educational and Administrative Supervisor at Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Training and Research Hospital. In addition, she was Medical Coordinator and General Surgeon at Istanbul Surgery Hospital.
She has authored or co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed papers. Her research covers hernia repair, perianal fistula, pilonidal disease, hepatic hydatid disease, laparoscopic surgery, and gastrointestinal surgery. Her work has been published in journals such as Digestive Surgery, Hernia, Techniques in Coloproctology, and the Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery. Dr. César Lévano Linares is a specialist in general and digestive surgery. He works at Rey Juan Carlos University Hospital and Fundación Jiménez Díaz University Hospital. He is recognized for his work in laparoscopic colorectal surgery.
He holds a PhD in Medicine and Surgery from the Autonomous University of Madrid. He completed a master’s in colorectal and pelvic floor surgery at the University of Zaragoza. He also holds a diploma in laparoscopic surgery from Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg. He has European accreditation in laparoscopic surgery (EACCME).

Dr. José Miguel Esteban López-Jamar is a gastroenterologist. He has led the Digestive Endoscopy and Digestive Diseases Units at Hospital Ruber Internacional since 2007. He has more than 20 years of experience. He is a Spanish pioneer in endoscopic ultrasound (EUS). His work covers diagnostic and interventional endoscopy. He uses innovative, minimally invasive techniques for complex gastrointestinal disease.
He was Head of Endoscopy (2008–2012) and Head of Endoscopic Innovation (2012–2014) at Hospital Clínico San Carlos. He completed international training at AMC Amsterdam, Institut Paoli-Calmettes in Marseille, and Zhongshan Hospital in Shanghai. He holds an MD and a PhD from the Complutense University of Madrid. He is a specialist in gastroenterology. He takes part in multicenter European studies and clinical trials. He is a member of SEPD, SEED, and ESGE.
Dr. César Canales has led General and Digestive Surgery and the Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery Unit at Hospital Ruber Internacional (Madrid) since 2015. He is a General and Digestive Surgeon with over 30 years of experience. He specializes in laparoscopic and Da Vinci robotic surgery for complex abdominal, oncologic, and abdominal wall cases.
He holds a PhD (cum laude, UAM) and an MD (with honors, UCM). He completed his specialist training at Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón. He is also certified by the Military Medical Corps. He has authored over 70 publications and 12 book chapters, including the Manual of Surgery (McGraw-Hill).
