1987 he defended his candidate's thesis "auto-alloneuroplasty of defects of the peripheral nerves of the limbs";

In 1996, he completed the cycle of works on microsurgery in the field of neuroplasticity, received the State Award of Ukraine in the field of science and technology;

In 1999, he defended his doctoral thesis "Autotransplantation of complex tissue complexes for closing defects in functionally important areas of the limbs";

Since 2007 - professor of the department of combustiology and plastic surgery, head of the cycle - "Mammoplasty";

Dr. Rajendra Dhondge is a skilled surgeon with expertise in Head and Neck, Breast, Trunk and Limb Reconstruction, Vascular Surgery, and Lymphedema Management. He has performed more than 1,500 microvascular tissue transfer procedures, mainly for oncoreconstruction cases.

Dr. Dhondge earned his MCh from TATA Memorial Hospital in Mumbai. He also holds an MS in General Surgery from B. J. Medical College in Pune. He is a lifetime member of the World Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery, the International Course on Supermicrosurgery, and the Indian Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery.
