Arthroscopic Bankart repair is a minimally invasive surgical procedure performed to treat recurrent shoulder dislocations caused by a tear of the labrum in the front (anterior) part of the shoulder joint. Using small incisions, a camera (arthroscope) and specialized instruments are inserted to reattach the torn labrum to the glenoid (shoulder socket) with suture anchors, restoring stability to the joint. This procedure is typically recommended for patients with repeated shoulder dislocations, instability, or a feeling of the shoulder “slipping out,” especially after trauma. Arthroscopic Bankart repair helps reduce the risk of future dislocations, relieve pain, and restore shoulder function, allowing patients to safely return to daily activities and sports.
