Procedure DescriptionTotal Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) is a surgical procedure designed to replace a severely damaged knee joint with high-grade artificial components to eliminate chronic pain and restore mobility. The surgeon removes the worn-out cartilage and bone from the distal femur and proximal tibia, replacing them with metal alloy surfaces and a durable plastic spacer.
Surgery Duration: Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Technique: Standard manual precision technique using specialized orthopedic alignment guides to ensure proper joint mechanics and implant longevity.

2. For Who (Patient Suitability)Target Patients: Individuals with end-stage knee osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, or post-traumatic joint damage that limits walking and daily activities.
Requirements: A recent weight-bearing X-ray and/or MRI (within 6 months) to assess the degree of joint space narrowing and bone deformity.
Contraindications: Not recommended for patients with active infections, severe vascular disease in the limb, or those with a BMI that exceeds safety thresholds for anesthesia.
3. Post-Operation Care & RecommendationsHospital Stay: 3 to 5 nights for clinical monitoring, pain control, and early mobilization.
Recovery Timeline: Patients are encouraged to stand and walk with a walker within 24 hours of surgery; most achieve significant independence within 4 to 6 weeks.
Travel Readiness: Patients should remain in-country for at least 14 days post-surgery for wound checks and to complete a "fit-to-fly" assessment.
