Emad Shash

Dr. Emad Shash is a medical oncologist and Medical Director of the Breast Comprehensive Cancer Hospital at NCI. He has participated in 70+ international oncology clinical trials as a principal investigator and monitor. Dr. Shash uses systemic therapies including chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy. He also serves as a Scientific Advisor to the Egyptian Minister of Health and Population.

Specialization and Areas of Interest

Dr. Shash treats breast, gynecologic, genitourinary, thoracic, gastrointestinal, and rare cancers. He also treats hemato-oncology cases. He uses systemic therapy to target cancer cells throughout the body. This involves precision methods like targeted therapy and immunotherapy. Additionally, he provides treatments like Keytruda to stimulate the immune system against tumors. Dr. Shash conducts detailed diagnosis and treatment planning for complex oncological conditions.

Medical Leadership and Research

Dr. Shash leads the Medical Oncology Department at Shifaa Al Orman Cancer Hospital. He served as the coordinating research physician and medical lead at the EORTC from 2011 to 2015. Since 2008, he has contributed to over 70 international oncology trials. He performs studies in phases I, II, and III for global sponsors like Roche and Pfizer. The doctor also serves on the scientific board of the ECRIN.
