Dr. Axel Stang is a professor, Head Physician of Asklepios Barmbek Clinic, with a specialization in internal medicine, oncology, and hematology. He conducts antibody and molecular therapies to reduce tumor size, and is a member of multiple organizations and societies. Dr. Stang has published articles on the effectiveness of radiofrequency ablation in treating of metastatic colon cancer, and was a member of a research group that studied the effects of liver embolization. She previously served as a faculty member at Gaziler Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Training and Research Hospital (2016–2024). She was Chief of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinic at Elazığ Military Hospital (2011–2015). She earned her MD in 2003 from the GATA Faculty of Medicine. She completed her PM&R residency in 2011.

Her credentials include Ministry of Health–approved certified prolotherapy training. She has taught Prolotherapy and PRP (2022) and Knee Prolotherapy and Campinject (2019).
