Professor Shixin Liu, MD, PhD, is the Discipline Leader of the Oncology Center. He is the former President of Jilin Provincial Cancer Hospital and former Director of the Cancer Prevention and Treatment Research Institute. He is a second-level professor and doctoral supervisor. He has received the State Council Special Government Allowance, the 4th National Famous Doctor (Outstanding Contribution) award, and the Model of Medical Ethics honor.

He specializes in the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of malignant tumors. His focus is precision radiotherapy for thoracic and abdominal cancers. He is skilled in IMRT, VMAT, and SBRT for lung, esophageal, breast, and rectal cancers.

His leadership roles include Vice Chair of CMA Radiation Oncology, CACA Radiotherapy, and CACA Particle Therapy. Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud Abdelhakim is Head of Radiation Oncology at Shefa al Orman Hospital, Luxor. He is Professor of Radiation Oncology at the National Cancer Institute, Cairo University. He previously served as Associate Professor (2015–2020), Lecturer (2010–2015), Assistant Lecturer (2003–2009), and Resident (2000–2003). He also worked as a Specialist at Gharbia Cancer Society.

He treats inpatients and outpatients with breast, soft tissue sarcoma, lymphoma, gynecologic, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and CNS tumors. Dr. Lucía González Cortijo is a medical oncologist with more than 20 years of experience. She has led the Medical Oncology Department at Hospital Universitario Quirónsalud Madrid since 2020. Her focus areas include breast and gynecologic cancers. She also works in precision oncology, targeted therapies, and immunotherapy.

She has been Principal Investigator in more than 20 Phase II–III clinical trials. She has also served as sub-investigator in over 50 international trials. She previously worked at Quirónsalud Madrid from 2009 to 2020. Before that, she was at MD Anderson Cancer Center Madrid from 2002 to 2009.

She holds an MD and a PhD (cum laude) from the Autonomous University of Madrid. She completed her Medical Oncology specialty training at Hospital 12 de Octubre. She also earned a Master’s in Molecular Oncology. She is a member of SEOM, ESMO, ASCO, and GEICAM. She is a university lecturer.

Prof. Ben Boursi is a physician in the Gastrointestinal Cancer Department at Sheba Medical Center. He specializes in internal medicine, medical oncology, and cancer epidemiology. Professor Raanan Berger, MD PhD, is a medical oncologist and radiotherapist. He is Director of the Cancer Center at Sheba Medical Center and heads its clinical research unit. He was listed in Forbes Israel’s “Best Doctors” (2025). He leads the genitourinary oncology program with a focus on prostate cancer. His care includes systemic therapy and radiotherapy in a multidisciplinary, patient-centered model.

He is board-certified in oncology. He earned his MD and PhD at Tel Aviv University and completed his clinical training at Sheba. He then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Dana-Farber/Harvard, focusing on prostate cancer with Dr. Philip Kantoff and molecular oncology in Dr. William C. Hahn’s lab. Dr. Nir Kleinmann, MD, directs the Endourology and Kidney Stones Unit at Sheba Medical Center. He is an expert in minimally invasive urology and urologic oncology. His focus is the kidney and upper urinary tract. He was named among Israel’s Best Doctors for 2025–2026 by Forbes and ResultMed.

He is a pioneer of kidney‑sparing laser surgery. He uses a dual‑laser system with neodymium and holmium for complex tumors. His expertise includes UTUC, kidney and prostate cancer, kidney stones, and BPH.

Professor Jair Bar, MD, PhD, is a thoracic oncologist and Deputy Director of the Cancer Center at Sheba Medical Center. He leads the Thoracic Oncology Unit. Dr. Iris Kventsel, MD, is a pediatric hemato-oncologist and bone marrow transplant (BMT) specialist at Sheba Medical Center. She is an attending physician in the Pediatric Hemato-Oncology and BMT Division at the Edmond and Lily Safra Children’s Hospital. Her clinical focus is pediatric sarcomas, including Ewing sarcoma, osteosarcoma, and rhabdomyosarcoma.
