Thanks to the professor and his team, the department has been modernised by introducing modern surgical methods of treatment and especially improved methods of post-operative recovery. The clinic has allocated a huge budget for the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment in order to offer patients a full range of surgical methods for the treatment of benign and malignant diseases of the oesophagus, lungs, stomach, liver, pancreas and intestines according to current guidelines and using the most modern technical equipment.

Professor Schenker is an active researcher and lecturer. He lectures at medical universities and organises seminars and workshops for colleagues. She also served as Educational and Administrative Supervisor at Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Training and Research Hospital. Today, Professor Rifaat Safadi is an outstanding specialist in the field of liver disease treatment, a member of the committee for the development of the somatic cell transplant center and the head of the liver disease unit at Hadassah Medical Center. The professor is a member of several international associations for the study of the liver and is the author of numerous articles in his specialty. Professor Safadi is a member of the editorial board of the scientific medical journal Clinical Science.

Rifaat Safadi is a laureate of many scientific awards. In particular, he has been repeatedly awarded the Hadassah Prize for studying the process of immune modulation of liver fibrosis using mRNA. For achievements in the same field, the professor received the Sharon Donsky and the Israeli Association of Gastroenterology and Hepatology awards.

Dr. César Canales has led General and Digestive Surgery and the Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery Unit at Hospital Ruber Internacional (Madrid) since 2015. He is a General and Digestive Surgeon with over 30 years of experience. He specializes in laparoscopic and Da Vinci robotic surgery for complex abdominal, oncologic, and abdominal wall cases.

He holds a PhD (cum laude, UAM) and an MD (with honors, UCM). He completed his specialist training at Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón.
