Procedure

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia, depending on the patient's age and preferences. Small incisions are usually made behind the ears, allowing the surgeon to reshape the cartilage and reposition the ears closer to the head while maintaining a natural contour. The incisions are carefully concealed to minimize visible scarring.

Recovery

Most patients can return to school, work, or light daily activities within 5–7 days. A protective headband is typically worn during the initial healing period to support the new ear position and promote optimal healing. Swelling and mild discomfort gradually resolve over the following weeks.
