The Department of Hematology at Shanghai Tongji Hospital is a nationally accredited drug clinical trial specialty and serves as the hospital's center for allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and umbilical cord blood stem cell transplantation. This program primarily targets recurrent/refractory hematologic malignancies. Prior to transplantation, patients undergo comprehensive HLA high-resolution matching and a thorough systemic health assessment. The core steps of the transplant process include: first, high-dose conditioning chemotherapy or chemoradiotherapy (myeloablative) to eradicate the patient's diseased hematopoietic system; then, intravenous infusion of healthy donor hematopoietic stem cells into the patient; finally, waiting for these cells to "engraft" in the bone marrow and rebuild normal hematopoietic and immune functions. The center has extensive clinical experience in early warning and long-term management of transplant-related complications.

What surgical procedures are included?​ Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (including donor stem cell collection and recipient intravenous infusion), umbilical cord blood hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

What diagnostic procedures are included?​ Bone marrow aspiration and biopsy, bone marrow morphology/immunophenotyping/chromosome karyotype analysis, HLA high-resolution matching, whole-body PET-CT or contrast-enhanced CT to assess tumor burden.

Are there any implants?​ No (performed via intravenous infusion; no artificial physical implants involved).
