Total hip replacement replaces the damaged hip joint with an artificial implant, relieving pain and restoring mobility. It is a long-term solution for advanced hip arthritis when other treatments no longer help. The surgery is performed at Optimed International Hospital by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burak Gunaydin, Orthopedics and Traumatology.

Before your arrival
- Please send us all your available medical tests and reports, and a list of the medications you currently use.
- Your surgery takes place on the day of your arrival or the following day, depending on your arrival time.

Your recovery timeline
- Day 1: Examination, tests and surgery.
- Day 2: You start walking with a walker.
- Days 1-15: Your surgeon follows your recovery during your hospital stay. You learn which movements to avoid while your new hip heals.
- Days 12-15: Discharge and transfer to your hotel.
- Around 1 month: Final check-up and stitch removal on the day of your flight or the day before. You receive a fit-to-fly certificate and can fly home.
- After 3 months: Full return to daily life.
