CDD Radioterapia is a specialized oncology center founded in 2012 by Dr. Wilson Mourad. It operates as the radiotherapy and radiosurgery service of Clinic Abreu in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. A second location in Romana del Oeste expands regional access to cancer care. The medical team includes 10 physicians trained at institutions such as Yale University and the Madrid Institute of Oncology.

Quality Standards and Certifications

The clinic meets international quality benchmarks for radiation delivery. In July 2018, it received the first radiotherapy quality certification in the Dominican Republic. The European Society for Radiotherapy & Oncology (ESTRO) issued this recognition. Evaluation by the EQUALESTRO dosimetric laboratory confirmed the clinic's ability to deliver correct dose distribution for complex treatments. The center also earned additional quality certifications in 2016 and 2017.

Oncology and Radiotherapy Services

Specialized PET-CT scans using Gallium 68 (PSMA, DOTA, and DOTATATE) allow precise staging.

For treatment delivery, the clinic uses high-energy linear accelerators. The Halcyon platform was the first of its kind installed in Hispanoamérica by CDD. It enables high-speed, simplified radiotherapy workflows. The center also operates the CLINAC 21 IX platform with Respiratory Gating technology. This activates the radiation beam only during specific phases of the patient's breath, so healthy tissue stays protected during chest or abdominal treatments.

Real-time verification is standard before each session. Physicians use high-definition PortalVision imaging for anatomical comparisons. Planning systems use dynamic multilaminar collimators to shape radiation beams precisely. The clinic also offers Tomotherapy, which combines CT imaging with radiotherapy delivery. All hardware is installed as new equipment.
