Dr. Hyuk-Jai Shin is a Clinical Professor of Surgery and Director of the Breast Center at Myongji Hospital. He also serves as Vice President for Medical Affairs and leads the hospital’s public healthcare programs.

Clinical Expertise

Breast cancer and benign breast diseases.

Robotic and endoscopic breast surgery.

Systemic cancer treatment: targeted therapy, endocrine therapy, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy.

Education

Dr. Shin obtained his medical degree, Master’s degree, and PhD in Medicine from Dankook University.

Clinical fellowship at Seoul National University Hospital’s Breast Center.

Principal researcher in proteomics at its breast cancer research laboratory.

Endoscopic breast surgery training at Kameda Hospital, Japan.

Exchange professorship at the University of Melbourne’s School of Population Health.

Visiting surgeon training at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Australia.

Former Director of Myongji Hospital’s Breast and Thyroid Center and Precision Medicine Center.

Professional Activities

Dr. Shin chairs the Korean Breast Cancer Society’s robotic and endoscopic minimally invasive breast surgery research group. He holds leadership roles in surgical societies and is a full member of ASCO.
