Dr. Arturo Martínez is a general surgeon trained at Centro Médico Nacional de Especialidades “La Raza” (IMSS). The program is recognized by UNAM. He has 20 years of experience in weight-loss surgery. He is board certified by the Mexican Council of General Surgery and the Mexican College of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery. He also holds the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC) designation of Surgeon of Excellence in Bariatric Surgery.

He completed postgraduate training in Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery at Hospital Ramón y Cajal in Madrid. Since 2001, he has been affiliated with the Obesity Control Center (Cyntar). He is an assistant professor at UABC. He is also a conference speaker and a published author. He has taken part in live surgeries at international bariatric congresses.

Dr. Servet Tali is a bariatric and metabolic surgeon with more than 12 years of experience. He graduated from Cumhuriyet University Medical School. He has performed over 10,000 bariatric and metabolic surgeries. He consults more than 1,000 patients with obesity and diabetes each year.

He is a member of the Turkish Surgery Association and the Turkish Medical Association. He has contributed to many national and international publications. He is often invited to speak at scientific meetings and international conferences. He is known for innovative methods in bariatric surgery.

Prof. Selin Kapan has been a Professor of General Surgery since 2017. She is currently with Istanbul Aydın University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of General Surgery (2022–present). She previously worked at Bakırköy Dr. Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital as a Specialist and Associate Professor. She also served as Educational and Administrative Supervisor at Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Training and Research Hospital. She has authored or co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed papers. Dr. Rafał Marszałek is a general, oncologic, and bariatric surgeon. He specializes in minimally invasive and laparoscopic techniques. He leads the General Surgery Department at the Hospital in Legionowo, affiliated with the Military Medical Institute. He has many years of clinical experience from leading centers in Warsaw and the region.

As department head, he applies current treatment standards and advances modern surgical practice. The unit performs a high volume of procedures each year and provides full perioperative care. His key focus is bariatric surgery. He manages patient qualification, selects tailored laparoscopic methods, and provides postoperative monitoring. Dr. Cemal Kara is a general surgeon with 26 years of experience. He specializes in cosmetic and weight-loss surgeries. He has performed more than 6,200 procedures. Dr. Kara co-founded the Aegean Medical Health Center and is recognized as a leader in his field.

He holds a Certificate of Surgical Competence from the Turkish Surgical Association, awarded in 2008. Dr. Kara has received several awards in both international and national scientific competitions. He invented and patented a laparoscopic surgical instrument. He has also published over 30 medical articles.

Surgical Experience

After becoming a general surgery specialist in 1996, I served as a General Surgery and Organ Transplantation Specialist at SSK (social insurance institution), for a period of 9 years. In 2005, was granted the title of Associate Professor-General Surgery. Between 2005 and 2012, I established the kidney transplant centers in İzmir Private Kent Hospital, Istanbul Private Gaziosmanpasa Hospital, and Medicalpark Goztepe Hospital respectively, and served as the chief executive of these centers.

I have worked in İzmir Private Kent Hospital since 2013. I established Obesity Clinic at Gazi Hospital, and performed more than 200 gastric reduction operations.

Dr. Osman Aktas has been serving as a general surgeon at Ataşehir Avicenna Hospital since 2005. Born in Kayseri in 1960, he graduated with his medical degree from Ankara University in 1983. Following his graduation, he fulfilled his military service in medical units for two years. He completed his general surgery residency at GATA from 1986 to 1990. After specializing in general surgery, He held key positions as head of general surgery departments and chief physician in several prominent military hospitals, including Tatvan, Diyarbakır, Ankara, and Manisa.

Dr. Osman has had a special focus on endoscopic surgery since 1995. Dr. Abu Shamsiya Rami Nuamanovych is a specialist in general and laparoscopic surgery, oncology, and ultrasound diagnostics. He is a Candidate of Medical Sciences, an associate professor, and a doctor of the highest category. Dr. Nuamanovych is a member of the Ukrainian Association of Bariatric Surgeons and the World Organization of Bariatric Surgeons (IFSO).

He works as a WHO consultant on laparoscopic surgery. He is also President of the Association of Arab Doctors of Ukraine. Dr. Liza Maria Pompa Gonzalez is a skilled surgeon with expertise in general and bariatric surgery. She is a certified member of the Mexican Council of Surgery and has renewed her certification several times. Dr. Pompa holds credentials in both general and bariatric surgery.
